- The Youth Club Summer Camp (YCSC) is the premier annual leadership program for driven and aspiring Chinese-Filipino student leaders sponsored by the Manila Downtown YMCA.
- As of YCSC 17, the camp has been catering to Chinese-Filipino students and honing the leadership skills of the youth for over 16 years. The modules of the camp have been carefully curated to focus on the self, the team, and the community, in alignment with the YMCA’s global vision for youth empowerment.
- The camp is designed to develop the potential leadership potential of each participant through impactful activities including dynamic team-building sessions, enlightening talks, and interactive workshops that would encourage the students’ active participation.
- YCSC will be held fully face-to-face at the Manila Downtown YMCA on May 24, 25, & 26, with a compulsory overnight stay on May 24 and 25.
- That being said, all of the participants’ meals as well as other operational costs will be shouldered by a camp fee. Participants may avail the early bird rate of PHP 280.00 until March 2; applicants after the aforementioned date will pay the regular rate of PHP 350.00 from March 2 to April 27. Moreover, the camp fee will also include a camp kit to help enrich the participants’ experience
- The camp is open to incoming Grade 10, 11, 12, and or college freshmen students who attended a Chinese school in Metro Manila until junior high school.
- The camp fee of PHP 280.00 (early bird rate) or PHP 350.00 (original rate) will cover the food, venue, sanitation materials, and camp kits. Payment details are included in the Application Form.
- Since the payment secures your slot, all payments made are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
- You will need to submit a 2×2 photo of yourself, a photo of your latest Chinese-Filipino school student ID and of your proof of payment for the camp fee, and the a signed Parental Consent Form upon submission of the Application Form. - Participants are to attend ALL scheduled camp days. Attendance is COMPULSORY and NON-NEGOTIABLE. Failure to complete the camp days automatically merits forfeiture from the camp.
- However, we will only allow absences on a case to case basis. With that, we advise participants to send a message to the YCSC Facebook Page so that the YCSC General Committee may note it. Moreover, ALL absences will entail having to do an extra make up requirement.
- Despite this, we highly encourage participants to attend all days of the camp as the experience and learnings to be attained during the event are valuable and irreplaceable by any makeup activity.
- The girls will be staying in the 5th Floor Auditorium, while the boys will stay in the 3rd Floor. Participants will be asked to bring their own sleeping bags.
